FleetSafe.AI Fair Use Policy
March 2026
This Fair Use Policy forms part of the FleetSafe.AI Customer Agreement (whether you order directly or through an authorised reseller). By placing an order or signing your reseller agreement, you confirm that you (and all users under your account) will comply with the rules below. Resellers must pass these requirements on to their own customers; if they fail to do so, the reseller remains fully responsible to FleetSafe.AI for any excessive usage by those customers.
Why we have a Fair Use Policy
Our goal is to keep the Subscription Services fast, reliable and affordable for every customer. The services run on shared network resources, so a small number of users who consume unusually high amounts of data can slow things down for everyone and push up our costs.
Most customers use the services responsibly and stay well within normal limits. This policy only applies if usage becomes excessive or inappropriate. It also reminds users that certain features — such as live video streaming from a camera — use significantly more data and should be used only when genuinely needed.
Standard Data Limits
Every connected device has a monthly data allowance (the “Data Cap”) built into its subscription. Unless you have selected a higher tariff, the default limits are:
- Standard Dashcam: 1GB per calendar month
- Dashcam-AI: 2 GB per calendar month
- DVR systems: 5 GB per calendar month
What happens if a device exceeds its Data Cap
If any individual device goes over its limit in a calendar month, FleetSafe.AI may, at its discretion:
- temporarily suspend the subscription for that device;
- reduce the data transfer speed on the affected device;
- end the subscription for that device with written notice;
- adjust or restrict the operating territory for your fleet or specific vehicles; or
- apply an overage charge for all data used above the cap (inside or outside the UK), in addition to your normal subscription fees.
Excessive or inappropriate use
If a customer’s overall usage pattern repeatedly affects network performance or creates unusually high costs, FleetSafe.AI will first contact the customer (or the reseller acting on their behalf) and ask them to reduce usage.
Examples of behaviour that we consider excessive include:
- a driver pressing the emergency/Panic Button repeatedly over a long period with no genuine reason;
- requesting large volumes of video footage from many vehicles on a regular basis (for instance, 10 or more video events per vehicle per day across more than half the fleet, several days each week); or
- a reseller or customer routinely demanding high volumes of video downloads.
If the excessive usage continues after a clear request to reduce it, FleetSafe.AI reserves the right to:
- suspend the service (in full or in part) for the affected customer or specific SIM cards;
- increase the subscription fees to cover the extra data costs; or
- restrict the territory or features available to that fleet.
Important note for resellers
Resellers are responsible for ensuring their end customers understand and follow this policy. Any costs or actions taken by FleetSafe.AI because of a reseller’s customers will be passed back to the reseller.
We review usage regularly to protect service quality for all users. Staying within the Data Cap and using high-data features (such as live streaming) only when necessary keeps the platform fast and cost-effective for everyone.
